Summary
Benefits Director for the Americas, you will be leading a team with responsibility for a broad range of employee benefit programs, throughout the Americas. You will also be responsible for the oversight of on-going (outsourced) administration of all health and welfare plans, defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans, and associated legal requirements.
Location - Arlington, VA or Philadelphia, PA Salary to $175k + .10
Performance Objectives:
• Design and develop benefit policies and programs
• Participate as an integral member of a global total rewards team to ensure alignment between the firm’s business strategy and benefits programs
• As in-house benefits “expert,” consult with the management team and partner with the business leaders on benefits issues
• Work with individual countries to evaluate and present benefits proposals to senior management
• Working with vendors, HR systems and administration teams, develop end-to-end benefits delivery processes and oversee their implementation
• Oversee the management of the vendors that support the benefit programs
People/Clients
• Develop strong relationships with internal clients including HR associates, providers of benefits services and external vendors to create greater efficiency, improve delivery of services and reduce costs
• Select, train, develop, and motivate staff ensuring a cohesive and productive team
• Foster a “client service” culture and instill a work ethic that includes collaborative thinking
• Manage client expectations on a daily basis, and work to resolve issues
Financial
• Identify process improvement opportunities and best practices; implement as appropriate
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with targets and budgets
• Develop and maintain control of country specific operating budgets and forecasts
Desired Experience
The Requirements
• 10 to 15 years’ U.S. retirement and health and welfare program design experience. Experience with Non-U.S. benefit programs (especially Canada and Latin America) a plus.
• Superior presentation, analytic, project management communication and negotiation skills
• Experience working within a matrixed organization highly desirable
• Strong operational and implementation experience
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage vendor relationships
• Demonstrated experience building and developing relationships both internally and externally within an organization
• Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and delegate appropriately
• Proven staff management experience with the ability to encourage and motivate staff
• Flexibility to travel on an as needed basis
• A Bachelors degree; Advanced degree preferred.
